Designer Wedding Cakes

With so many things to plan and organise for your wedding, it can be easy to overlook the importance of your wedding cake. The cake is not only a symbol of your marriage but it also provides a very important focal point at your reception.

All our cakes are individually designed, and handcrafted, and any design from our collection can be customised to your specifications. There are many options to choose from and we will help you to find a design that perfectly reflects your personal style, wedding theme and budget.  The colour theme can be co-coordinated with the rest of your wedding.

If you have a specific design or idea in mind that you would like made into a cake or perhaps you would like some alterations made to one of our existing cake designs, then contact us for a quote.

Designer Wedding Cakes Prices
Bespoke Designer Wedding cakes are priced individually,  depending on  complexity of the design, size and type of cake.  An appointment is recommended to discuss requirements.

Budget Wedding Cake
A Basic Cake is available at a cost of £190 with the following conditions.
The cake is available in round only, and sponge or chocolate cake or a combination, covered in white or ivory sugar-paste, flowers and cake topper are not provided.  The cake will feed approx 80 people.  An extra cutting cake for the kitchen can be purchased if extra portions are required.
The cake will be finished stacked or on individual boards for you to decorate, and trimmed with a ribbon colour of your choice from our selection.

Cutting Cake
This is an extra cake which is not part of the main cake and is decorated with plain white (or main cake colour) fondant icing. It is then served along with the wedding cake.
This option can be used when there are a large number of guest to cater for but your chosen design does not require lots of tiers, or to allow enough portions and keep within your budget.

Baking your own wedding cake?
You may want to bake your own Wedding Cake, we can ice and put the finishing touches to your cake for you.  Prices are available on request, please contact us for a quotation.

Fresh flowers
If your wedding cake will be decorated with fresh flowers, we recommend that these are provided by your florist to ensure that your cake decoration perfectly coordinates with your reception flowers and bouquet. Our cake prices do not include fresh flowers; however, as part of our service we will liaise with your florist prior to your wedding and discuss the floral requirements and set-up arrangements for your wedding day.

Securing a date and Booking your cake
To secure a booking a deposit of £50 is required.  The balance is payable one week before the wedding or when the cake is collected.  Only a limited number of orders are taken each week to allow me to give my full attention and time to every order.  It is therefore advisable, particularly in the summer months to place a deposit to secure a date even if you wish to defer deciding on the wedding cake design to nearer the time.  Deposits can be made up to 2 years before the wedding date.

Delivery / Set up
Where required we may be able to offer personal delivery and set up.  Prices are available on request, please contact us for a quotation.

Collection
If you wish to collect your cake we will offer advice on transportation and storage instructions where required.   Please note that once collected, the full responsibility for the safety of the order is with the client and Krafty Kakes are not liable for any damages thereafter.

Transporting and Storage of Cakes
Cakes should be transported on a flat surface ideally a boot that has been cleared of anything that may fall/roll onto the cake.  Tall or fragile cakes should be transported carefully, and driving should be kept smooth and slow, and the cake should be checked periodically during the journey.  Routes should be planned to avoid any unnecessary steep hills.
During the warm summer months I recommend that cakes are only transported early in the morning or late evening to avoid any damage from heat in the vehicle.  Where this is not possible keep the vehicle as cool as possible.
Cakes should be stored in a cool dry environment away from direct sunlight.  Cakes should not be stored in a plastic container, fridge or vehicle.
